Kel's Choir Concert

Kelsey had her Concert Choir concert last week. She had a solo in one of the songs, and did an amazing job (of course!). She sprained her ankle a couple days before (thus the crutches). The choir did a really good job.

Stars Assembly

Kelsey participated in her school's Star Assembly last week. It's basically a talent show the school has twice a year; kids have to try out for it, and they only let a "select few" do it. They also try and have kids that haven't done it before. Anyway, Kel's tried out in past years with groups of friends but never made it in. Until this year. :) Kel and 5 of her friends (all 9th graders) decided to do "Alone" by Heart. They did AWESOME!!!! I missed the first few seconds since I was going to use my video camera, but realized at the last second that it was full because Kent had used it to make his Lego movie. SO I had to hurry and switch to using my regular camera, and in the process, missed the very beginning.

Mulan

As most of you know, Kelsey was in her school's production of "Mulan" last week. She did an AMAZING job and looked gorgeous, too! Here are some fun pictures of her! She was a "bride"/hairdresser (you remember in the cartoon, the "brides" who help Mulan get ready to meet the matchmaker) and then a soldier (rather than being in the chorus - the soldiers had funner songs to sing!). And a huge THANK YOU to my friend, Starr, for making Kel's costume and for doing her hair every night!! You're an angel!

Here is a video clip I took of her on closing night, with the brides doing their song, and they all have a little solo. She was the only one that didn't have a microphone, yet you can still hear her over the rest when they all sing together, if you listen really close (and know what her voice sounds like!). She did an absolutley amazing job and I'm so proud of her!

40 Years Young

New Calling

Okay, so I finally got a new Church calling....and it's definitely unexpected. Ward Activities Chair. Go figure.....SO, any great ideas of ward activities, please send them my direction!! Thanks!

Jon Schmidt, revisited

If you remember, I posted back in November that I took Kelsey to a Jon Schmidt concert and absolutely loved it! Well, he was at BYU this last Saturday night, so I took Kel and 3 of her friends. The concert was in the ballroom in the Wilkinson Center, and it said seats were first come, first serve and that the doors opened at 6:45. Well, I thought we could just leave at 6 and there would be a line but it shouldn't be too bad. WRONG!!!

We got there at 6:30 and it was a HUGE LINE!!!! It totally took me back to my days of being a BYU student (a very long time ago) when we used to wait in lines for midnight movies, etc. INSANE!!! Luckily, after waiting for a few minutes, I saw another line on the other side of the ballroom which was so much shorter, that we went over there and we actually got pretty good seats. I don't know how many chairs they had in there, but it was absolutely packed!!!!

Such an AMAZING show!! If any of you ever have the chance to see him, you need to go!!! Phenomenal!!!

But if he's at BYU, you might want to get there early. :)

Random tidbit

More for history's sake than anything else....I just have to say that Kent lost 3 TEETH last week!! 2 in one day!! CRAZY!! (And hard on the pocket book!)
