July 2009

We had a fun Fourth of July celebrating with our friends from Las Vegas who were here visiting, and also my brother and his family were here! Victor and Kelsey, together with our friend Sandra from Las Vegas, ran the Provo Freedom Run that morning, which is becoming a tradition.

Kelsey was able to participate in our stake’s Handcart Trek, where they went to Wyoming for 4 days (3 1/2) and walked 32 miles!!

All their belongings (except bedding) had to fit in this 5 gallon bucket (which she decorated quite nicely thanks to her dad's vinyl machine!).

And here's when I picked her up. Dirty and exhausted, but still smiling!

A HUGE thank you to my friend Starr for Kelsey’s very stylish clothes!! I think she was one of the best looking pioneers there. :) What an experience -- I’m glad she was able to go!

Kelsey also got her Driver’s Permit and started her Driver’s Ed classes!!! Very scary! :) Not her driving, just the fact that she is driving!!

Kelsey and I and my sister-in-law Flor were able to go to the American Idol concert!! And we stayed after and got autographs of 9 of the 10, so that was fun. They all sounded amazing live, and I’m so glad we were able to go!! Very fun!

Our favorite American Idol: Adam!

We were able to go to Dillon, Colorado for a week with two of my sisters and their families, but I will make a separate post for that. Isn't it beautiful?!

My parents and brother, Tyler, were here for a few days at the end of the month. We love when when they can come and stay with us! We were able to visit with a lot of our extended family and friends while they were here, and we hope they continue to come back and visit us often! Here is my brother with two of his long-time friends, Ben and James.

How fun for Kelsey! You'll have to check out one of our blogs from the end of July. I think we took close to the same trek. Ours was five days and about 38 miles. I got to be a Pa and loved it. Hope she had a great time. Would have loved to have her in my trek family!
